Ward Legal commenced in September 2006 when Ray Ward resigned from his significantly larger partnership to establish a boutique firm providing timely and cost effective services to corporate small business and private clients.

Ray was admitted as a solicitor in 1974. He originally practiced in the Sydney CBD and in 1976 moved to Wollongong where he was a partner in a firm specialising in local government and town planning and commercial law for the next 28 years. He moved back into the Sydney CBD in 2004 and established Ward Legal on 1 September 2006.

Ray has an interest in business management, best practice and total quality management and is a past president and current director of QL Inc. which is a national body setting the standard for quality and accreditation with SAI Global. Ray's prior firm Peedoms Lawyers was one of the first in Australia to achieve best practice accreditation from the Australian Quality Council.
Ray has been a member of Best Practice Lawyers for the past 10 years.
Ray's commercial experience together with experience in deceased estate planning has resulted in him being appointed as a member of the Elder Law and Succession Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales. That committee advises the Law Society of NSW and in turn the Attorney General of NSW in respect of all legal matters pertaining to wills, powers of attorney and administration of estates generally.
Ray's vision is to create a Sydney CBD law firm with a high degree of expertise that is able to advise and assist both corporations and individuals in a timely and cost effective manner.
